Debbie Wong is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and a Registered Educational Psychologist with the Hong Kong Psychological Society. She holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Honors): Psychology graduated with First Class Honour, Postgraduate Diploma: Elementary Education, and Master’s degree in Educational Psychology and has over four years of experience providing psychological assessment and counselling services to children, youth, young adults, and families in both British Columbia and Hong Kong.

Debbie currently works as a Mental Health Clinician with the BC Ministry of Children and Family Development, where she provides direct clinical services including individual counselling, parent-child interventions, therapeutic groups, and crisis response. She previously held positions as a Youth and Family Counsellor and Educational Psychologist, supporting clients with a wide range of emotional, behavioural, developmental, and family-related concerns.

Her areas of specialization include anxiety, depression, trauma, parent-child relationships, family conflict, neurodiversity (including ADHD and ASD), cultural adjustment, and identity-related issues. Debbie integrates a variety of evidence-based approaches in her practice, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), attachment-based interventions, elements of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, and the Gottman Method. She also has experience in executive function and social skills training for children and youth.

Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, Debbie is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental space for clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Her counselling philosophy is rooted in openness, authenticity, and a belief in each individual's capacity for growth and healing. By fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship, she works collaboratively with clients to navigate challenges and empower them toward positive change.
